Florence Oregon is a fabulous City located on the Central Oregon Coast where the Siuslaw River enters the Pacific Ocean. While Florence has a population of only about 10,000 it has many of the amenities of a larger city and is a very popular tourist destination for a variety of reasons.
Florence is located virtually within the Siuslaw National Forest with a number of Tourist Destinations that stand on their own merit within a very short distance. Forests, lakes, rivers, the Oregon Dunes and the Pacific Ocean are the setting of perhaps the most beautiful area along the Oregon Coast.
Florence is a fabulous place to enjoy the outdoors with one of the more well known destinations, The Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area which extends for over 40 miles along the Oregon Coast. Another inspiring beauty is The Heceta Lighthouse which is said to be one of the most photographed locations along the Oregon Coast.

Florence is a very popular destination for many and just a quick hour & 20 minutes from Eugene. There is particularly good seafood, especially in Old Town as well as some excellent "Art in Old Town".
Florence lies on the Central Oregon Coast and if you don't know what to expect, you may be very disappointed with the weather. The biggest mistake is those arriving in summer time expecting warm weather.
